چکیده

Security services become crucial to many applications such as e-commerce payment protocols, electronic contract signing, and certified e-mail delivery with the phenomenal growth of the Internet. For these applications fair exchange must be assured. A fair protocol allows two members participating in a contract to exchange digital signatures over the Internet in a fair way, so that either each person gets the other’s signature, or neither person does. As more business is conducted over the Internet, the fair-exchange problem is gaining greater importance. The property abuse-freeness is necessary for contract signing. Abuse free means,

Abuse-Free Optimistic Contract Signing

We introduce the notion of abuse-free distributed contract signing, that is, distributed contract signing in which no party ever can prove to a third party that he is capable of choosing whether to validate or invalidate the contract. Assume Alice and Bob are signing a contract. If the contract protocol they use is not abuse-free, then it is possible for one party, say Alice, at some point to c...

Three-round Abuse-free Optimistic Contract Signing With Everlasting Secrecy (Short Paper)

We introduce the novel notion of Verifiable Encryption of Chameleon Signatures (VECS), and then use it to design a three-round abuse-free optimistic contract signing protocol.

Finite-state analysis of two contract signing protocols

Optimistic contract signing protocols allow two parties to commit to a previously agreed upon contract, relying on a third party to abort or connrm the contract if needed. These protocols are relatively subtle, since there may be interactions between the subprotocols used for normal signing without the third party, aborting the protocol through the third party, or requesting connrmation from th...

A fair contract-signing protocol allows two potentially mistrusted parities to exchange their commitments (i.e., digital signatures) to an agreed contract over the Internet in a fair way, so that either each of them obtains the other’s signature, or neither party does. Based on the RSA signature scheme, a new digital contract-signing protocol is proposed in this paper. Like the existing RSA-bas...
